Faculty of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences

The Faculty of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences is located on the Belle Beille campus, close to the University library, in a lush green setting. Through all the teachings offered by the Faculty, we aim for student academic and career success.

Thus, the professional integration rate of master's graduates is 78% only 6 months after graduation and up to 85% after 30 months. Through a large network of more than 100 partner universities in 30 countries, our faculty welcomes about 130 exchange students each year and as many local students undertake a mobility abroad during their studies.

Its international outlook is illustrated by the Language Festival which takes place every spring over a two-day period. The festival is an opportunity for French and international students to get together through culinary, film and theatre activities and to share the diversity of multicultural experiences.

We also offer a wide range of courses in English, Spanish, German and Italian at the faculty of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences. This shows how multilingualism is at the heart of the Faculty. Our international development is also reflected in nationally and internationally renowned and innovative research activities carried out by labelled research teams.

The Faculty of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences is part of the University of Angers and has more than 6 000 students. We offer varied study programmes ranging from Bachelor`s to Master's degrees in German, English, Spanish and Latin American studies, Geography, History, Applied foreign languages, Literature, Linguistics and Psychology. Our faculty's excellent functioning is made possible by the dedication of a technical and administration staff team of 50, more than 120 teachers and teacher-researchers, and close to 450 professors.
